We're not your typical preschool.

Here at Connections, we understand that:

  • Progress looks different for everyone -- so we strive to recognize and celebrate every milestone, no matter how small

  • Communication comes in many different forms -- so we ensure that alternate communication methods are encouraged and supported in the classroom for every child

  • Every child learns differently -- so our educators plan and offer flexible activities to adapt to individual learning styles, abilities and needs

  • Collaboration is key -- so we value partnering with families and outside services to coordinate supports to help each child thrive

Our daily schedule follows a predictable routine while using visual supports to show children what is coming next. We also utilize transition warnings before moving from one activity to another. These tools help our students anticipate the plans of the day, prepare for any changes in routine, and ease the anxiety of completing one activity and moving on to another.

Curriculum

Our program lays a foundation for our students and their first years of education through play and exposure to academics. We target preschool skills such as prewriting, number sense, fine and gross motor development, early literacy, social skills, and problem solving. We utilize a curriculum that was developed to meet the Pennsylvania Department of Education Preschool State Standards, as well as several research-based programs that expand both academic and social-emotional learning.

The Sensory Gym

Students have access to our fully-equipped indoor Sensory Gym, which provides endless opportunities for learning, motor development and play! Equipment and activities are rotated often by our on-site Specialists and Occupational Therapists.
